Heavy mist had soaked through her clothes as she walked tiredly down the black road. It was done. All done. Every single thread cut and all the bridges had been burned. It was over. Yet, she walked with no other purpose that to get distance. Physical distance from that action. From that single thing that changed everything. From that decision that they were no more. She knew it was done. It was all over. But yet she could not stop walking. Not stop wanting to get away - hoping the distance will alleviate the aching sense of loss within her. |
